It is known that after analysis, scientists believe that such a beach subsidence is due to a scientific phenomenon called gravitational waves .
This gravity wave rarely occurs on tourist beaches, but surprisingly it appeared at Puerto Escondito beach in Oaxaca, Mexico. This phenomenon is created by storms thousands of miles away from the beach. They cause the sea level to rise suddenly. Unlike tides, they “eat away” the sand and make the beach look like it’s sinking.

The incident happened at Puerto Escondito beach last week, but what’s really strange is that it happened last May at the same location. These waves occur all over the world, but they are especially strong on the coast of Mexico.
According to Infobae’s report, these gravitational waves appear harmless because the height of these waves is not too high, making it difficult to distinguish from normal waves. However, they cause the sea level to rise suddenly and cause severe landslides in the sandy beaches along the coast.
