The phone “takes away” nearly 9 years of each person’s life.
WhisleOut calculates that with an average use time of 3.07 hours a day , people will spend 8.74 years just using smartphones. Not surprisingly, the younger generation born between 1981-1996 used the most , averaging 3.7 hours a day.
Next is the group born in 1965-1980 with three hours of daily use of the phone. The 1946-1964 generation spent only 2.5 hours a day on smart mobile devices.
In the US, the statistics on average phone time are even higher. The average American spends 5.4 hours a day on their phones. In 2019, adults in the US spent more time on mobile devices than watching TV for the first time in 2019.
Phone Arena commented on the results of the investigation published by WhistleOut : “These statistics are somewhat alarming, but should not be taken seriously. First of all, 9 years are cited in the survey. just an extrapolation from 1,000 respondents.
Second, spending a lot of time on your phone isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It’s hard to gauge because you can spend those hours learning a new language or playing mobile games as a way to pass the time.”
“Phones are a great tool for you to enjoy a great video, learn new skills or watch a favorite show. Smartphones are increasingly powerful and versatile, so users can entertain, work and play. instead of using a desktop, laptop or tablet” , one comment.
Regarding smartphone sharing habits, Review42 reports that the average user touches, swipes and taps on their phone 2,617 times per day.
