Tragedy in the family of 3 generations, all of them died from being hit by lightning in the same place

The seemingly mysterious and supernatural story that seems to only appear in movies actually happened to an Italian family, when 3 generations in a family were struck by lightning and died at the same location.

In 1899, a man was killed by lightning while standing in the backyard of his house in Taranto, Italy. Thirty years later, his son also died for the same reason and in the same position. Coincidentally, this tragedy continued to happen to his grandson on October 8, 1949 in the same location.

This terrible tragedy so far science has not been able to explain the cause. However, the story in Italy is not unique, another “lightning sucker” family in the US also became famous when 4 generations in a family all experienced lightning strikes.

The Olesen family in the US also faced a similar tragic situation. It all started in May 1899 when 23-year-old Christ Olesen visited his fiancée and future father-in-law. Lightning suddenly hit the house, killing Christ while the other two were unharmed.

Twenty years later, in 1921, Christ’s brother, Ole, was inspecting cattle on a stormy summer night when he was suddenly struck by lightning in front of the farm gate.

The Olesen family since then began to fear lightning. Christ’s older sister, Christine, in later years always lived in fear of being visited by lightning at any time. In 1941, Christine’s grandson Bill came to visit her. That evening, a storm struck. Christine, fearing a tragedy with her two brothers, repeated her decision to wake her grandson and get him out of the car.

As they were walking through the living room, a bolt of lightning struck through the wall. Fortunately, no one was injured.

Twenty years later, in 1961, a ball of lightning tore through the sky before hitting the toaster in Bill’s kitchen. He and his young daughter nearby were lucky to escape.

In 1966, Bill’s cousin Connie was walking down the street when he was struck by lightning. Connie did not die, but was only partially paralyzed.

A few years later, Bradley Hampbel, the fourth generation of the Olesen family, was visiting his grandmother in Burlington, Illinois, nearly being struck by lightning. Hampbel was also the last member of his family to be visited by lightning.

Many people after hearing this story think this is just a coincidence, but the Olesen family believes that their family members have the ability to “attract” lightning. It could be due to genetic factors or come from a supernatural force.
