This is supposed to be a super-fast easy-to-remember English vocabulary learning tip for “blind” foreign languages.
Surely many of you have struggled to learn since you started “making friends” with a new foreign language. And then the situation of learning before forgetting later, it is clear that this new word has been memorized, but after a few meals, it is as new as new, not too strange.
When you see a new word, you should write it down in your notebook.
But linguist and teacher Anton Brejestovski recently shared a method that helped him learn more than 10 languages.
And according to Anton, this method called “90 seconds” is very simple, easy to implement, but helps you learn words quickly and remember for a long time. Are you curious what that method is? Read the article now!
In school, you are often taught that when you learn a new word, you usually take notes in your notebook and study it. Or do you believe that if you read that phrase over and over again 20-50 times, you will remember it forever?
But no, after a few repetitions, the brain will stop remembering. And you will forget it again soon because the brain cannot absorb all too much information at once.
When you see a new word, you should write it down in your notebook. Don’t just write down every word, though, but give it some more context.
Over the next 7 days, you will read this expression out loud 1-2 times.
For example, you write down the context in which this word will often apply, then the prepositions and phrases that go with it and use it as needed.
Over the next 7 days, you will read this expression out loud 1-2 times. You don’t have to force yourself to memorize it, just focus and try to understand what you’re really saying.
Estimates take you 10 seconds to read this phrase 2 times. Total time you learn this word in these 7 days is 70 seconds.
After 7 days of daily repetition (for 10 seconds each) you will stop reading from there for about 1 week. After this “break ” period, you will come back and read this phrase. Remember to read them 3 times, it will take you about 10 seconds to read them. Always remember to read aloud, clearly and correctly!
About 2 weeks later, you’ll be re-reading this phrase 3 times in 10 seconds. So the total time spent learning this word during the past time is 70 + 10 + 10 = 90 seconds.
After this “break ” period, you will come back and read this phrase.
According to linguist and teacher Anton Brejestovski, this learning strategy allows you to build an expression in memory firmly.
Of course, there will always be difficult words and phrases that take you longer.
This requires focus, clarity, and re-reading over and over again with each repetition.
Our memory has a very interesting feature. That is, we remember information better if we hear or see it in 7 or 9 different situations.
With each repetition, the number of neurons in the brain becomes strongly connected to each other. Without repetition, neural connections would not be strong enough and we would easily forget that information.
We remember information better if we hear it.
So every time you read, repeat – please…
According to Anton Brejestovski, with this simple method, just try, you will surely be surprised at what we learn.
