How to open wine without tools – What if you and your lover are enjoying a romantic evening with a cozy candlelight meal and a bottle of excellent wine. But you don’t have a tool to open it?
The good news is that you’re having a romantic evening, all it takes is a little wine to enjoy the candlelight and music. The bad news is that there’s no bottle opener here. So what will you do?
Don’t worry, we have prepared a few “options B” for everyone if they accidentally fall into that irony situation, because these necessary tools are present in almost any home, especially for men.
Just find a small screw, and a pair of pliers and you can solve the stubborn bottle of wine. First, screw the screw into the wick, until the top of the screw is about 1.5cm.
Using flat-faced pliers, gradually pull out the screw. The cork will be pulled out with the screw and all that’s left is to pour the wine into the glass.
Men often carry multi-tools or pocket knives. That way, the work you have to do is much simpler.
First, choose a serrated blade for better grip, if not, you can use a normal blade. Note, be especially careful when using a knife because you can injure yourself, in addition, it is advisable to choose a knife with a blade smaller than the diameter of the bottle.
Rotate the blade from right to left, doing it carefully and slowly. When the wick is pulled up almost all the way, pull it out and you can enjoy the dinner.
If there are no screws around but only pliers and a piece of steel wire (small clothes hangers are fine), it’s okay, you can still use it well.
First, use pliers to bend the end of the steel wire, forming an angle of 30 degrees. Then, carefully thread the end of the wire under the cork edge downwards as shown. Note, to do so, the steel wire requires relatively small.
Make sure the hook of the cord is firmly seated under the cork at the right angle, and carefully pull it away from the neck of the bottle. You may need to wear gloves for safety because the small wire can cut into that hand.
You can also use paper clips as a savior. Step 1, straighten those 2 paper clips, leaving only the U-shaped part as shown.
Thread the two U-shaped ends under the wick as in the method above. Twist the top 2 ends of the clamp, use a pen or chopstick or something cylindrical to create a grip and then gently pull the wick up.
This method is similar to method 1. You screw the screw into the wick so that the rest protrudes about 1.5cm.
Then use a pin to insert into the cap of the screw to create traction and then gently lift the wick. Important note, if there is something similar to a pin you can also use it, if not, be very careful with the pointed end of the pin.
This method we will push the button down, not up. A multi-purpose knife or pocket knife (with a blade smaller than the diameter of the cork) is used to relieve pressure on the bottle, making it easier to push down with the pen.
Note : you can use chopsticks or a sturdy cylindrical object instead of a pen. In addition, you should do it slowly, avoid letting the alcohol splash out too much.
If you don’t have pliers and screws, don’t worry, a hammer and small nails can also help you solve the problem. Carefully drive 2-3 nails into the wick so that they are in a straight line.
Use the clamped part of the hammer to gradually push the nails up as shown. This method follows the leverage theorem so it won’t take too much effort.
Note, these are just the simplest ways that we can apply right at home, in addition there are many other methods to be able to open gold wine cork without special tools.
