The high-end yacht named Fata Morgana is designed to blend into the icy landscape of the polar regions by posing as a giant iceberg.

The 70-meter yacht is the idea of designer George Lucian in Nice, France. The vehicle can accommodate 12 passengers and a crew of 18. In addition to the swimming pool and helipad, the yacht also has an observatory where passengers can enjoy the clear Arctic sky. Fata Morgana will be used for seafaring and exploration of newly thawed areas of the Arctic Circle.

According to Lucian, the yacht will be equipped with an advanced shake reduction system so that the view from the observatory is not affected by the movement of the vehicle. The yacht’s innovative shape is inspired by military ships and stealth aircraft.
All equipment on the yacht will be adapted to operate in Arctic conditions. Fata Morgana will pass through the Northwest Passage of the Arctic, where ships were previously difficult to navigate due to large ice caps. A giant kite is attached to the front to help tow the yacht and save fuel.
Lucian also shared that the yacht will support climate change activists in both form and practice. The devices will transmit data on water temperature to international organizations. Meanwhile, the design of the yacht will remind people of the problem of climate change as well as the melting of icebergs and ice caps.
