SEA Games 33 will be held in Thailand in December 2025.
On the evening of May 17, the 32nd SEA Games officially ended after the closing ceremony was held at Morodok Stadium, Cambodia. The flag of the Southeast Asian Sports Federation has been transferred to Thailand, the host country of the 33rd SEA Games.
This is the 7th time Thailand has hosted the largest sports event in the region. With the available organizational experience and abundant facilities, the land of golden pagodas promises to bring a memorable 33rd SEA Games.
Bangkok, Chonburi and Songkhla will be the 3 locations for the 33rd SEA Games. Historically, the Thai capital Bangkok has hosted the regional Games 5 times. And this is the first time the SEA Games have taken place in two provinces of Chonburi as well as Songkhla.
The stadiums for the 33rd SEA Games are Rajamangala (Bangkok), Eastern National Sports (Chonburi) and Tinsulanon (Songkhla), respectively. In particular, the opening ceremony of the SEA Games will be held at all three locations above. This promises to bring the audience a new experience, unprecedented in the history of the SEA Games.
Rajamagala Stadium in Bangkok has a capacity of more than 50,000 seats.
The 33rd SEA Games is expected to kick off from December 9-20, 2025. Some subjects may start early before the opening ceremony. After 2 consecutive SEA Games taking place in May, the next congress begins at the end of the year.
Not long ago, the Southeast Asian Sports Federation decided that since the 33rd SEA Games, the Games will only focus on organizing the Olympic and Asian Games, limiting the appearance of local sports.

SEA Games 33 is expected to have 43 sports. These subjects will be included in the national sports festival by the host country, Thailand, so that the SEA Games venues can prepare their facilities in advance.
