The ring was named Marigold or “The Ring of Prosperity” , which means marigold , or ring of prosperity. The elaborate work is designed like a plump chrysanthemum flower weighing more than 165 grams.

In Indian culture, it is believed that marigold flowers bring prosperity and good luck to people.

The intricately patterned round ring is finished with thousands of natural diamonds, estimated at 38.08 carats.

Reportedly, each small petal in the ring’s eight-layer floral design is “unique”. Harish Bansal also turned down requests from potential buyers. “We have no plans to sell it right now,” he said. “It’s a design we’re proud of. It’s truly priceless.”

The previous record was a ring with 7,801 diamonds created by Indian jeweler Hallmark Jewelers.

Indian designer Harish Bansal said he was first inspired to break the diamond ring record in 2018 while studying jewelry design in Surat, India’s diamond hub. Two years later, his company completed the design of the ring on November 30, 2020.
