“Our study shows that personality can also be forged and matured over time, but not immutable, ” the researchers wrote in the journal Jounal of Peronality and Social Psychology.

Specifically, researchers surveyed a group of high school students in 1960 with a series of questions related to the Big Five personality scale. Fifty years later, they were interviewed again, and the results surprised researchers.
