Everyone tilts their head to the right when they "lock their lips" and this is the reason

What is the reason behind this? Simply because you are right-handed, or is it a habit imposed by society.

If you are not a “true” FA, you have probably experienced the feeling of kissing and being kissed. But notice, most of the kisses you’ve had, you’ve tilted your head to the right, right?

In fact, science used to make assumptions about our brains. Each person’s brain has two halves, but we often prefer to use only one. And also according to many experiments, it is the right.

Kissing is the same, most of us tilt our heads to the right. But the problem is that doing it is instinctive, or is it because we learn it through TV, movies?

It is not easy to verify this. The reason is because in Western countries, they are influenced by a kind of society commonly called “WEIRD” (short for Western, Educated, Industrialized, Rich and Democratic ), i.e. extremely liberal and democratic. .

Kissing in public is a common occurrence, so it somewhat affects each person’s behavior.

In a society where images like this pop up on the street, the research results won’t be reliable
So this time, experts from the University of Dhaka (Bangladesh) decided to conduct a study on the kissing act of this country. Bangladesh is a Muslim country in South Asia, where society has stricter standards. In particular, kissing in public is strictly prohibited.

In the study, experts surveyed a number of couples in Bangladesh, asking them to kiss privately. Then, each person will take turns reporting some information when kissing separately.

The results showed that two-thirds of the respondents always tilted their heads to the right. In particular, for the person who actively performs the kiss, the right-handed person will lean to the right, the left-handed person will lean left. As for the person being kissed, no matter which hand they are, they will lean in the direction the person who initiates is leaning.

This proves that, despite differences in culture and social standards, people still have many similarities in habits. Only tilting the head to one side when kissing seems to be determined by the habit of the brain, just like whether people are right-handed or left-handed. The number of left-handed people is only a small part of society, so it is clear that people who lean to the left are also less.

According to experts, the reason may lie in hormone levels in each hemisphere and neurotransmitters are unevenly distributed between the two hemispheres of the brain . For example, dopamine – the reward hormone, or testosterone – the male sex hormone. This disparity creates a tendency for us to tilt our heads to one side.

The study was published in the journal Scientific Reports.
