Ancient Egyptian Gods – The minor gods were just supporting the main gods and they were not responsible for protecting the things on earth. The main gods are the opposite. They protect and protect people, animals, trees… even the internal organs in the body of the dead and the water of the Nile. Among them is a small group of gods that have their own symbols. For example: Ra, the sun god, is symbolized by the disk of the sun.
“Wipe out” anyone who dares to laugh, kill his brother… are the methods of purge of the ancient Egyptian gods.
Compared to the gods in other religious cultures, the Egyptian gods seem to be more “grounded” because they rarely “vent their anger” on humans, but “rare” rather than non-existent.
Ra represents the Sun in Egyptian mythology. God ruled here for thousands of years of peace and prosperity. But as he got older (in Egyptian mythology, the gods grew old and came back to life), some people started to laugh at him and make fun of him.
Enraged, God Ra turned Hathor, the goddess of love, into the war goddess Sekhmet – a brutal killing machine. Sekhmet punished more than half the population of the entire continent. One day, Ra realized that there was no way to stop Sekhmet from his thirst for blood.
He ordered the people to dye 7,000 jars of wine red and place them on the ground. God Sekhmet mistook it for blood, so he drank it “like never before” until he was drunk. At this time, the god Ra can turn the goddess back into the love god Hathor (in the form of a cow).
God Set (or Seth) is considered an evil god in ancient Egyptian mythology. Seth’s brother is the god Osiris – the god who rules the sky. The god Osiris was very talented in ruling Egypt and had a rather happy family with his own sister, the god Isis – the great goddess of bringing life to the dead.

Seth was very jealous of Osiris and devised a very “dangerous” scheme – to make a magnificent chest and bring it to Osiris’s party. Seth challenged to give this chest to whoever fits it best.
The god Osiris did not expect to be murdered by his own brother
No one knew that this was a “limited” item only for Osiris, and when the god was inside, Seth locked the lid of the box, covered it with molten lead, and threw it into the Nile.
The god Isis tried to find her husband’s body and bring it back to Egypt
Later, the god Isis found her husband’s body and brought it back to Egypt. However, the evil god Seth still refused to let go, he cut the corpse into 14 pieces and scattered it across the country as a way to show his cruelty.
Later, with the help of many other gods, Isis managed to find the body parts, except for the genitals that had been eaten by the fish. According to some versions, Isis managed to collect the body and use the power to bring him back to life.
After Isis gathered most of her husband’s body and sent Osiris to the other side of the world (Osiris later became king here), Horus – son of Osiris and Isis made war with his cruel uncle.
This is not an ordinary war, but a very “tit-for-tat” war. Once when Horus and Ra were out for a walk, Seth came in the form of a giant boar. Horus was curious to see and as a result was fatally gored by the boar Seth, and then burned his eyeball. Once recovered, Seth took out both of Horus’s eyes and buried them in the ground.
Horus further challenged Seth to a boat race on the Nile and demanded that he use stone oars. Only thing, Seth’s oars are “genuine stone “, and Horus’s oars are painted wood imitation stone. As a result, Horus was victorious in the wrath of the evil god Seth.
However, the truth is that Horus’ crimes do not fit. Another time, Horus and Seth both turned into crocodiles and whoever got to the shore first would lose. The goddess Isis knew about it and used a hook to pull Seth up but released him because she felt sorry for him.
Horus was indignant at his mother’s actions, so he drew his sword and cut off his mother’s head. In the end, Seth was forced to enslave Ra and Horus became the god of the sky in place of Osiris.
Apep or Apophis is an evil god who rules over darkness and chaos. The embodiment of this god is a giant python day by day flying across the sky Apep trying to assassinate the god Ra – the sun god. He wants Egypt to be in darkness.
According to legend, once Ra went on a Barque boat, suddenly a big wave arose, a giant sea python blocked the front of the boat. The god ordered the monster to go away, but it didn’t listen, so he threw a spear at the monster.
It squealed and attacked Ra’s boat. According to the Egyptians, the moment when Ra fought with Apep was at dusk and when the monster retreated, the sun rose. Later, Apep was removed from ancient Egyptian beliefs because the gods thought that it was impossible to worship such a cruel monster.
