UK: Discovering 115-year-old chocolate, risking it to taste

A woman in the UK has just found a box of 115-year-old chocolates in her home and decided to “take a bite”, The Sun reports.

Vikki Jones , 49, found a box of Rowntree chocolates after rummaging through the house left by her ancestors. Even though the chocolate box was made in 1902, Mrs. Vikki decided to eat it anyway.

The box of chocolates belongs to Vikki’s great-grandmother Ellen Sills.

Vikki, who lives in South Yorks in the UK, told The Sun: ” I can’t describe the taste of it. It has lost all its color and turned white.”

“The piece of chocolate was also not intact, broken into many pieces. However, it did not cause any ill effects for me.”

The box of chocolates belonged to Vikki’s great-grandfather Ellen Sills, who died in the 1990s.

Vikki has found many of her belongings in the house but checked her bag earlier this month.

Vikki finds two boxes of chocolates, one of which is empty and the other has 3 bars left.

Vikki added: “I don’t know why she put the chocolate in here. Maybe she doesn’t like these chocolate bars, put them away and forget. They may be worth a little money now but I will never sell them.”
