The truth makes everyone "fall back" about pure water

Pure water exists in the world? And is drinking pure water good for health?

Here’s the truth: “Pure water” doesn’t exist. Or at least, it doesn’t exist on Earth.

May Nyman – a chemistry professor at Oregon State University, USA once shared that, because water is very easy to absorb ions from the surrounding environment, so it is difficult to exist so-called pure water.

“Water really ‘likes’ to dissolve substances it comes in contact with,” she said.

“Pure water” does not exist. Or at least, it doesn’t exist on Earth.

A water molecule consists of two hydrogen atoms bonded ionic to one oxygen atom. Water molecules in turn use these same ionic bonds to interact and bind with each other and at the same time adhere to molecules of different types with which they come into contact.

The purer the water, the stronger the ionic bond between them, and so the easier it is for water to dissolve the molecule of any compound. This has limited the ability that humans can create pure water, because to some extent, water will begin to dissolve the very compounds of the bottle or jar that contains it.

This “preference” for water is so strong, Nyman says, that, even in a sterile lab, there’s no way we can stop it. No matter how purified it is, the water sample is immediately “stained” by dust or plastic particles.

Because of that, drinking water that is too pure can even be harmful to the body , as it will immediately “dissolve” our internal organs.

In short, any water is the same, there will be impurities, but as long as the substance is not harmful, we can still drink it.
