What do the colored lines on the toothpaste tube mean?
Fiction!

So what do those colored lines really mean? The answer turned out to be very simple: that colored line is for marking!

This colored line is called the Eye mark (or Eye spot). In the production line, tubes are usually sealed at one end, the other end is left open to pump the product in. As we have seen, the above machines use light sensors and laser lights to recognize eye spots, so if the packaging is mainly white, the eye spots must have a different color, eg black, blue… to avoid the possibility of mis-cutting the product. This is also the answer to why the eye points have different colors.
