Serbian teenagers observe the natural world and memorize it, reproducing it vividly on the page without looking at the model.
Dušan Krtolica, a young Serbian artist, started drawing at the age of 2, an age that could not even hold a pen, according to Bored Panda on June 21. She is now 15 years old and has had a brilliant career with 6 solo exhibitions.
Dušan loves the natural world, that’s her main theme.
Her pictures of animals are accurate and vivid in every detail.
A few years ago, Dušan even illustrated an encyclopedia.
“I love the diversity of the animal world, its ability to adapt and change,” says Dušan.
I can’t remember which animal I drew first, but my parents said it was a whale.
“For me, drawing is like a game. It’s not difficult and I love to draw,” Dušan shared.
Dušan is not only interested in living animals. Like many teenagers her age, she is fascinated by dinosaurs and other extinct species.
Every day, I spend a few hours drawing.
In particular, every picture is redrawn by Dušan from memory.
“I already have an image of the animal I want to draw in my head, so I don’t have to look at the actual image,” she said.
