Musk brought to Thailand a child-sized submarine to assist in the rescue of trapped children’s soccer team members. He described the hull as the liquid oxygen delivery tube of the Falcon rocket. The billionaire thinks it’s light enough for two divers to move and small enough to get through narrow gaps in Thai caves.

When introducing the ship on Twitter, Musk also anticipated the possibility that the device would not be used. “If not used this time, it may be useful in future situations,” he wrote.

12 young players and their coach have been trapped in Tham Luang cave since June 23. During two rescue operations on July 8 and 9, the divers were able to get out eight people. Thailand this morning started the last operation to save the remaining 5 people.
