“At first glance, it looks like many colors but if you look closely, it’s only a gray color,” commented @yulibe.

And @drawndark wrote: “If you can see many colors congrats you have joined the normal crowd. If you only see 1 or 2 colors, you are either extraordinary or you are extraordinary.”

However, according to Kolyvind Kolas, the photos he shared are black and white photos. This person said he only added color lines to the photo.

“The image above is a color contrast test. A color grid is overlaid on the image with grayscale levels.

Our brain is tricked and fills the gray boxes with different colors even though they are not there,” this person wrote.

This is not the first time that a photo has appeared that has caused the online community to “split into factions” , causing heated controversy.

Previously, a similar picture was shared by Dr. David Novick, University of Texas (USA) on his personal page , causing a storm for many days.

Most netizens see two balls of different colors, but they are actually the same color.

It was the changing colored polka dots above the two balls that fooled everyone.

Novick’s picture, which he dubbed “Paper Fireworks” , is an example of a classic illusion called the Munker.

According to Danish professor Michael Bach, the Munker illusion reveals that when it comes to perceiving the color of an object, we are often dominated by the colors around us.
