About 20 years ago, humanity was really worried about the huge holes in the ozone layer – especially in the Antarctic region.

But it seems that concern is now superfluous. A 2015 study showed that compared to 2000, the ozone hole has shrunk by more than 4 million square kilometers, and that number continues to grow.

The reason is also thanks to the cooperation of environmentalists who have helped governments around the world become aware of the harmful effects of chemicals that cause ozone depletion – such as CFCs (the substance found in chillers of the 20th century). Thanks to limiting products containing CFCs, the ozone layer is gradually recovering.

It is the Greek island of Kimolos , 53km 2 wide. A special feature of this island is that every time it rains, the ground will be covered with… soap bubbles.

The reason is because the soil of Kimolos contains soap clay – a form of natural soap used by indigenous people instead of ordinary soap.

Those are the tectonic plates – a total of 7 plates. Between these plates there is a process of carbon cycling, and that is why the Earth does not melt even though the core is full of extremely hot lava.
