Radar registered another aircraft going in a different direction from Carlos’s plane, and which executed a 270-degree turn in a radius of three or four miles at a speed of 450-500 nautical m.p.h.
‘Normally a plane moving at that speed needs eight to ten miles to make a turn like that,’ air traffic controller Emilio Estanol told reporters. ‘In my seventeen years as an air traffic controller I’ve never seen anything like that.
