Strange towns in the world

A town where only one person lives, a town with only women, a town of eagles or an underground town… are unique places in this world.

Unalaska – the town of eagles.

Unalaska in Alaska is known as the eagle town because 4,700 people share space with more than 600 bald eagles. This makes it look like a fairy-tale city, but sharing the house with the cannibals also gets them into trouble.

The people of Unalaska are more vulnerable to eagles than anywhere else in the US, and locals must always keep an eye on them, especially when walking near their nests during nesting season.

Noiva do Cordeiro in southeastern Brazil is famous as a women’s town with more than 600 young girls aged 20-35.

The town has only women living and working.

This town was founded in 1891 by a woman named Senhorinha de Lima, after she was kicked out of the village by people for adultery. This particular town has only a small number of married women, but the husbands all work in the city of Belo Horizonte, about 100km away, and only return to their wives on weekends.

Due to the lack of men, the girls here are in a state of “thirst for husbands” . Nelma Fernandes, 23, said: ‘It’s been a long time since I’ve kissed a man, we both wanted to get married but they had to agree to follow our rules.

The twin town’s “nickname” is inscribed right above the town’s entrance.

Candido is known as the “land of twins” with 700 couples out of 6,600 residents living in the state of Rio Grande do Sul close to the Argentine border.

Kitana and Tahuana Schmitt, 10, are just one of 700 twins in a town of 6,600 people.

The twin rate in Candido Godói is 10 percent, higher than the state’s overall 1.8 percent increase. To explain this, some historians believe that it was Doctor Joseph Mengele, Adolf Hitler’s most ruthless subordinate, who fled to South America and performed experiments with a series of women in this town.

However, another study suggested that Joseph did not carry out the plan. According to geneticists, such a high rate of twins is due to gene isolation and inbreeding.
