New discovery about human DNA

The new discovery allows easy DNA sampling but also creates a big privacy hole .

After collecting and analyzing air samples in the US and Ireland, researchers discovered that human DNA can be found everywhere , from furniture surfaces to outdoor air.

The study also says the finding could help people determine the variability of the epidemic in the region. It also shows that this technology could open the door to scientific advances in medicine and forensics.

David Duffy, a professor of genetics of wildlife diseases, led the team from the University of Florida, which reviewed and compared all the DNA provided by volunteers.

In addition, the team also sampled everything from bare human footprints on beaches, water samples in oceans and rivers, and sand from shorelines to the air at various locations.

The results showed that except for isolated islands and wildlife national parks, the team found signs of human life in most of the places they tested.

Accordingly, the researchers say the technology could track cancer and other disease mutations , find hidden archaeological sites or help arrest suspects in a case.

“During the project, we were amazed at the quantity as well as the quality of the human DNA we found. In most cases, the quality of the DNA is roughly equivalent to taking a sample directly from a person,” Professor Duffy said.

However, this groundbreaking discovery also raises concerns about individual privacy. This can allow individuals or organizations to collect genetic information from those around them without their consent.

“These are the issues we post. We are also trying to announce it soon so that the government can develop regulations to protect people,” said Professor Duffy.
